Hennessy V.S.O.P New Bottle Launch

Who hasn't heard of Hennessy V.S.O.P? Its been around for ages and one could deem it a legend since it was birthed on 7 October 1817, when the future King George IV of England asked the great French cognac House to supply him with a special cognac described in the records with the words “Very Superior Old Pale”. Hehehe...I assume you now know what does V.S.O.P stand for...

A legend and what's interesting is the taste remains unchanged. I haven't been around as long as this cognac but I sure remember my first sip as a teenager when Daddy allowed me a sip when I was 16. It still taste the same with its own woody fragrance.

The looks however has been updated and the latest with the involvement of Chris Bangle. Yes, Chris Bangle is the very same dude who designs BMWs and Rolls Royce. At the new bottle launch, we saw Chris Bangle demo how he started designing the bottle. a little bit of pen, then erase then pen again...and what we have is the new bottle.

The result! Its now a taller bottle with a wider shoulder. Its isn't just about being visually pleasant but Chris Bangle intended the design to resemble a pedestal to distinguish the whole with opulence while maintaining its stability. Anti-counterfeiting techniques for the Hennessy V.S.O.P bottle were also developed: a laser stamp for the 35-cl, 70-cl and 3-litre bottles and a hologram of inimitable complexity (now with horizontal lines forming a grape cluster) seal the cap, ensuring product integrity.
Nuff said...let's now have a look at the fun moments from the launch. Met the pals. Some I have not met for some months while some I meet on a regular basis weekly.
