Ramadhan 2012: Songket Restaurant

Ramadhan is round the corner and this marks the beginning of my review of Ramadhan delicacies. I kick off with one of my fave Malay restaurants in town, Songket Restaurant which once again whips out traditional Malay delights for buks puasa.

This year, Songket Restaurant is rolling out a spread of more than 50 dishes daily. To make it interesting, the menu will change on a daily basis and reverts back to menu 1 after every 5 days. This ensures that guests will not have the same items even if they choose to “Buka Puasa” there daily.

Its quite a variety to choose from. Take your pick of Nasi Minyak, Ayam Golek, Roti Jala, Kerabu and many of Songket's signature dishes. Each day, there will be a live grill station showcasing Roasted Whole Lamb, Roast Beef and Roast Chicken and a variety of Satays. End your meal mouth-watering desserts such as Ais Batu Campur, assorted cakes and Malay kuihs.
I rate Songket to have one of the best Roast Lambs in town.

Dessert...the bubur kacang is good!
Of which resulted in us experiencing a food coma which some of us resorted to curing ourselves in joining the cultural dance. Songket Restaurant presents a 30 minute cultural dance every night except Sundays. If you're there, be sure to join the fun!

The Ramadan buffet is priced at RM 68++ per adult and  at RM 34++ per child aged between 3-11 years. Kids below 3 years old eat for free. Enjoy the early bird special at only RM 68 nett per adult and RM 34 nett per child for all bookings made during the first week of the fasting month.
