Mid Autumn @ InterContinental KL

Mid autumn is round the corner and that only means that it is mooncake time again. And let's just say its lantern time again too. For this post, let me share with you the first batch of mooncakes that went into this lil tummy of mine thanx to Toh Lee, InterContinental KL.

But before mooncakes, it will be a good Chinese dinner first!
I am part Cantonese, so a bowl of Double Boiled Soup is always good to prep the tummy for dinner.
Crispy Roasted Chicken with Fragrant Spicy Sauce
Sauteed Diced Assorted Vegetables
Braised Assorted Mushroom in Garden Greens
Deep Fried Garoupa Fillet with Mango Salsa
Ready for desserts and one should at least understand what goes into the making of mooncakes. Its quite a laborious task to make the mooncakes that we devour in minutes. Master Chef Lo Tian Sion treated us to a preview on how InterContinental KL's mooncakes are made. I will share some other time on how to make mooncakes (mooncakes make lovely yummies all year long).

Pop it into the oven to bake...
Now that we know efforts that go into all the pretty mooncakes, we were treated to dainty pieces of mooncake including the signature and new flavours in both Baked and Mini Snow Skin varieties.
I enjoyed the Baked White Lotus Paste with Single Egg Yolk for its creamy salted egg. Another fave from the night was the new Dragon Fruit Paste with Cream Cheese that was a beautiful mixed filling of decadent cream cheese and dragon fruit that had hints of tangy, sweet and salty in each bite.
My durian urges have yet to surface this year but I certainly loved the Durian Paste with Oats which coincidentally is a new flavour this year. Creamy with a lil more bite than just pure creamy durian, this was addictively good.

~.~

Saya bukan terlalu gemarkan durian.
Minta maaf kerana masih belum
