CNY 2013: Pavilion KL

Pavilion KL
CNY's just a week away and its lovely to see all the malls all ready to welcome the Lunar New Year. Its the year of the snake and not many malls are putting up a grand display...not sure why though but Pavilion KL is certainly making it all grand and celebratory inside and outside. In fact, its 9 experiences that awaits shoppers with their theme of Pavilion KL Circles of Prosperity.

Let's have a peek of what's in stored for shoppers!
9 Giant Longevity Koi set amidst 2,000 red and gold Chinese lanterns. An old Chinese legend tells the story of thousands of Koi making the perilous and often difficult journey up the river every year. Out of the million koi making the journey over the years, only one koi, perseveres and is strong enough to swim all the way to the head of the river and leap from the water, over Dragon’s Gate, transforming into a powerful dragon. Swimming Kois are thus symbolic of overflowing surpluses, worldly aspirations and advancement. They are often presented as gifts bestowing blessings on the receiver.

Walk the Bridge of Prosperity and make a date with the God of Prosperity. Seal the deal with him by tying an auspicious golden coin onto the impressive 8ft by 35ft bridge to usher in generous wealth and booming prosperity.

Pavilion KL
Pavilion KL’s Bukit Bintang Entrance features 12 beautifully illuminated Chinese Zodiac Characters. Standing at 7ft tall, each character encourages visitors to find their corresponding zodiac and read their fortunes for 2013.

Pavilion KL has always been an iconic fashion hub. Even their ang pow packets is fashionably gorgeous with snake inspired prints. These auspicious ang pow packets can be redeemed with every RM200 spent at any specialty store.

Let's not forget the under privileged when we're out shopping for CNY. Grab a Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Care Lotion for just RM8 and RM2 will be donated to charity.

Explore the Arts Bazaar that features traditional festive arts in all forms from lion head making, paper lanterns, fish skin painting, silk embroidery to rainbow calligraphy.

Other fun activities to accentuate the season include Chinese classical music show, Sunny Angels and Twin Stars Live Performance and God of Fortune meet and greet.

BTW...do you know that Pavilion KL is now 5 years old! Its grown more awesome each year making it an experience of its own for shoppers (local and otherwise). Love the interesting precincts that they have created. Have you visited them all?
