Lil whatsapp the tamchiak groupie and fast forward we're at Kari Kepala Ikan Tiga in Puchong on a Sunday evening. Trying to be old fashion Chinese, we set the dinner date for 630p.m. Reality is Lil did advise us to be there early to avoid the crowd the peak hour crowd that arrived shortly after us.

I have to start by saying that I am quite smitten with Miraku Japanese Restaurant Sunday buffet spread. I am generally not much of a buffet person but this one is interesting in its own way as the dishes being served are all Japanese dishes! Take your pick of sushi, sashimi, appetisers, hot dishes and even dessert they are all Japanese!

Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral has opened its doors. Nestled in the middle of  Kuala Lumpur business and travel hub, this new hotel is set to attract savvy leisure and business travellers.

The Mexican Fiesta @ InterContinental Kuala Lumpur

Mexico has long been recognised for its natural beauty and traditions that reflect centuries of history and cultural legacy. To add even more accolades, in 2010, the UNESCO committee for the safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage inscribed Mexican Cuisine on the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Do watch the following short and very entertaining documentary about Mexican cuisine.

Mexican cuisine is colourful, intense, spicy and exciting. The staples are corn and beans but those are not the least boring when you take into consideration the many spices that goes into making of each Mexican dish. Be prepared for a whole experience of sweet, salty, spicy and colours! We had a sneak peek at the Mexican Fiesta that's coming to InterContinental Kuala Lumpur. It was an eye opener to sit through the cooking demonstration by Paula Estefania Gallegos Galeana who taught us how to make the perfect Quesadilla.

And the filling is basically up to you though I loved it best with cheese and some meat.
Or simply with some roasted tomato salsa!

A cold margarita is a perfect accompaniment for all those chats and tortilla chips. At hand was mixologist Conor Hadlington who whipped out some amazing margaritas while we chatted and munched. 
No worries...there is plenty to go around!
Addictive and yummy! I love the tangy salsa and prefer guacamole only during the day. Do you know why? Hehehe

The Mexican Fiesta is a collaboration between KLM and the Embassy of Mexico in Malaysia. To give  us an authentic experience, two extraordinary Mexican Chefs Tania Gonzalez and Salvador Vasquez will be specially flown in from Presidente InterContinental Mexico to cook up an authentic Mexican Feast then.  The menus will focus on staying true to the characteristics Mexican cuisine. Among the dishes on the menu:
Appetizers on the menu include:

• Ensalada de Nopales - Cactus Salad
• Guacamole con Totopos - Avocado Dip with Tortilla Chips
• Salpicon de res a La Mexicana - Strips of Meat Mexican style
• Ensalada de Calabaza con Frijoles y Cilantro - Zucchini and Bean Salad with Cilantro

Main dishes on the menu include:
• Arroz a La Mexicana - Mexican Rice
• Albondigas con salsa de Tomate - Meatballs with a Mild Chilli Sauce
• Camarones al Pasilla y Guayaba - Shrimps in a Chilli Guava sauce
• Barbacoa de Cordero de Hidalgo – Barbequed Lamb served in Hidalgo style
• Quesadillas y Tortillas Calientes - Corn tortillas and tortillas with different fillings

Desserts on the menu include:
• Flan al Caramelo - Crème Caramel
• Churros – Deep Fried Pasty Sticks
• Arroz con Leche - Rice Pudding

St Patrick's Pub Crawl

Month of March is March more fun for Guinness lovers as we celebrated St Patrick's recently with some 5,000 Guinness lovers in in the pub crawl at Changkat Bukit Bintang. Had lots of fun...and I'll let the photos speak. Of course there are more pics in my Facebook hop over to view them all.

Angels walked around to remind the flks to drink sensibly. Water was being handed out to hydrate the partygoers. Remember its one pint of water for one pint of Guinness that you consume.
Its a carnival like atmosphere along Changkat Bukit Bintang with Stilt Walkers, Mime Artists, Jugglers, Irish Dancers, Drumliners, Guinness Bikers, St Paddy’s Caddies and beautifully made-up black and green denizens.

My passport...that I had to get stamps from some simple and fun win an iPad Mini or a crate of Guinness!.
Pour a perfect pint and I get a stamp for my passport.
Hehehe...a picture with my teacher who gave me a reminder crash course on how to pour a perfect pint.
A picture with the green man earns you one stamp too! Now how difficult is it to earn 6 stamps to qualify for the draw? Easyyyyyy!
And that's why some lucky bloke (coincidentally my hubster) won the lucky draw of an iPad Mini. So much for declining to join me in the pub crawl. He joined and he won himself an early Birthday pressie!

And if you wanna have some Guinness fun in your home, here's an easy peasy Recipe for Guinness infused Chocolate Cupcake:D
Ingredients for cupcake
• 300g flour
• 60g cocoa powder
• 180g castor sugar
• ¾ teasp baking powder
• 90g butter
• ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
• 2 eggs
• 120ml  Guinness

Ingredients for Butter icing
• 180g butter
• 360g icing sugar

1. Preheat oven at 170 C.
2. Cream butter and sugar.
3. Combine all the dry ingredients; add egg, Guinness and vanilla slowly until the mix comes together.
4. Place into 12 cupcake papers and bake for 15 – 20 minutes.
5. Beat the butter and icing sugar till soft and creamy. You can add some colouring if you desire. When cupcakes are cold pipe the butter icing on and serve:D
