Ramadhan Buffet @ Bali Hai Seafood Village

The Name Bali Hai is not strange to Penang folks. And this popular seafood restaurant is now also in Kota Damansara. Smack next to Tune Hotel, Bali Hai Seafood Village is a must for seafood lovers.

This Ramadhan, Bali Hai Seafood Village whips out a Ramadhan buffet apart from its regular ala carte menu. While the menu is not the most extensive and may seem a tad expensive @ RM98 nett, once you have tasted the food, its certainly worth the price. Plus the current promotions of buy 2 FREE 1 for the Ramadhan package, its actually worth while especially if you love huge juicy oysters, fresh prawns, mussels, tasty grilled chicken and mushrooms like me, then this is the place to head in!

What I also liked about a smaller buffet spread is that I don't have to walk around figuring out what to eat. Its easy to see from a glance and just dive straight in for my faves. No need to plan what to eat or not to eat:P

There's ample parking at Bali Hai. This place has plenty of seats and if you need privacy then head in for the 5 private rooms (make your reservations!). Parents can enjoy their meals in peace as there is a lovely mini playground for kids.

The grill selection has vegetables and chicken wings. The wings are lovely. A little  spicy for some kids at the point that I tasted last week. Love the grilled vegetables especially the mushrooms! Satays are lovely too...perfect for kids!
Grilled vegetables are tasty!
Grilled chicken wings done right. Crispy skin as if they were fried but seriously they were grilled! Healthy!
Satay galore!

There's plenty of carbs for fillers but I liked the fried meehoon and nasi briyani the most. Simple and tasty enough. There plenty of dishes with gravy to go with it and I noted that the hubster  was busy digging into the chicken curry.
Nasi briyani
Very homely chicken curry.
The belacan fried vegetable is similar to the 4 Heavenly Kings (sei tai tin wong). No petai unfortunately...but it has a nice and interesting touch to it in the form of lotus root!

Seafood lovers! You must dig into the fresh oysters and cold prawns if you see them on the menu. My mistake in not taking a photo of the oysters against my palm to illustrate how big the oysters were. Crabs were certainly nice and fleshy too!
Dried shrimp and curry leaves crabs
Cold prawns are possible only when you have seriously fresh prawns.
Spring onion clams
Big juicy oysters.
A very happy Henry!

Desserts is simple. Fruits and some local kuih. Alternatively delight yourself in their very yummy soya milk!

The menu rotates daily. So you may not be having the same dishes as I did. One thing for sure, its definitely good quality. After all Bali Hai is famed for its fresh seafood! So for a buka puasa with a difference, its RM98nett for adults and RM48nett for hildren between teh age of 6 to 12. And if you purchase 2 sets of adults, the third one gets to dine for free!
