Sneak Peek: Westin Langkawi

Couple weeks back when the haze was at its peak, we sneaked off to Langkawi! A blissful getaway as all I had was blue skies, blue seas, a heavenly bed, pampering and good food to fit my tummy! Here's a sneak peek at my sanity getaway @ The Westin Langkawi Resort and Spa. More pics and followup post on my makan, drive and run adventures next week!
Pic taken when we're approaching Langkawi. See the blue seas and blue skies?
A quick check in and its a refreshing welcome drink at the Breeze which overlooks the sea and the pools.
Breeze also whips out very good antioxidants rich Bloody Mary following the principals of SuperFoodsRX
I quickly refreshed myself in my room. Totally cozy with a view of greenery and the sea. Westin;s Heavenly Bed experience is certainly one of the highlights for me. Its so comfy that honestly I was quite reluctant to leave the room:D I wanted to be a sushi on the bed.
Yochana obviously had a gala time on the bed with her 2 new pals Boo and Bee.
Gosh! What were Bee, Boo and Yochana doing?
Breakfast with a view at Seasonal Taste.
My healthy option for brekkie during my stay @ The Westin Langkawi Resort and Spa. Am totally amazed with the selection of SuperFoodsRX dishes at this resort.
Awesome Chef Chandran gave us a sneak preview of his new menu that will make its way into Seasonal Taste menu really soon. A lovely play of local and Western flavours. This man knows his local ingredients really well and incorporates them into the menu for health and culinary reasons.
One of my fave places to dine would be Tide. A lovely place for both lunch and dinner.
This very delish and pretty Steak Tartare is a must try in Tide.
I am on a sanity getaway, so wine indulgence is a must especially in good company.
Love the Heavenly Spa. We checked in for a massage followed by a romantic dinner here. A perfect place for a cozy and romantic dinner or even an intimate wedding dinner!
A massage is another must when one is @ The Westin Langkawi Resort and Spa.
Our romantic dinner by the beach.
Sun worshipping by the infinity pool and cooled by Splash's amazing cocktails.
Soaked enough...I decide that I need more colour:D
I don't want to miss my weekend run sessions so I went for a run with Westin's run concierge which is part of their runWESTIN programme.
The runWESTIN has a very interesting package. For those who like to travel light, you can rent this set of shoes with new insoles and new socks, running shorts and tshirt for RM15. Perfect for those who want a last minute run or travelled light without  their gear.
We ran at the Lagenda Park - an interesting mini Langkawi.
I also extended my run on my own @ Westin Langkawi's grounds. A lovely mix of flats, flats and steps!
The gym was also one of my option to avoid leaving Langkawi looking like a baby whale with all the feasting.
Westin Langkawi has its own private beach and some non motorized sports. Perfect spot to chill and read a good book.

There's quite a bit to do in Langkawi island. Since the hubster has not visited this lovely island for more than 18 years, an island tour was in order. Westin Langkawi has their own fleet of vehicles that you can rent. We normally spend our weekends driving around in our convertible. Of course this 'habit' continues in Langkawi. We opt for Westin's Cooper Convertible. A zippy little thing that sits 4 persons.
Here's a snippit of out round island drive:
The happy boy and our weekend ride:D
Put the top down and soak in the sun when you drive!
Hello buffalo!
A shopping mall!
Shopping is posible at these quaint stalls for souvenirs, bikinis etc. Of course we also stopped to buy our duty free liquor for our home.
It gets hot when you drive for hours under the sun. There's plenty of stops selling snacks and refreshing coconut.
A must visit in Langkawi is Mahsuri's Tomb.
A bridge in Langkawi island itself.
We stopped by at the many beaches to indulge in one of my fave hobbies of people watching:D
Perdana Quay
Taken from a random stop shortly after Perdana Quay where we savoured this view while having our tea time snack of rojak.
The cable car is one of the best ways to check out Langkawi island.
Fishing boats somewhere in town centre.

I love my mini getaways and this sanity one to Langkawi island was perfect. The Westin Langkawi Resort and Spa was our perfect second home. Just an hour away from Kuala Lumpur and a slightly longer time needed if we drive, I am now making plans for my next balik kampung (return) to The Westin Langkawi Resort and Spa.

Stay tuned for more post on Westin Langkawi and this charming island.
