The Royal Beach Seminyak - Bali

Going away for a 2 weeks break is quite impossible for the hubster and I. But we certainly treasure our weekend or weekday short sneak aways. We totally enjoy our "we must get out of town to stay sane" trips with our buddies Jon and Elle for a few days. Does not matter whether its Cuti Cuti Malaysia or elsewhere. This time around it was time spent in Bali where we stayed at The Royal Beach Seminyak in Bali.

A nice getaway where we have the best of greenery and the beach. Blue sunny skies is of course a must for this sun loving soul. In fact Seminyak was rated the Top 10 Travellers' Choice Beach Destination in Indonesia in by Trip Advisor in 2012.

The usual works of flying in with Air Asia and we arrived safety and ahead of time in Denpasar. Took a cab to The Royal Beach Seminyak - an interesting 30 minutes drive.
From my window on board my flight...
From my window of the taxi...

We have not stayed at The Royal Beach Seminyak but this came highly recommended by Jon who's a very well travelled bloke for leisure and work. 128 rooms is just nice as far as I am concerned as I don;t quite fancy crowded or too high occupancy hotels for my hurraydays.
I like the welcome sign. Looks lush and friendly.
Love such long driveways.
Thank you! We shall turn left!
A wide and clean lobby.
Fast and efficient check in.
Refreshing cold towel and welcome drink.
Chilled here while waiting to check in.
A slight hiccup with our room and the hotel presents us with a complimentary meal voucher.
Loving our airy and cozy room
Tucked in the corner of our room but with a good view. This looks like a good spot for me to catch up with my reading.
View from my balcony. Lush green garden!
A basic but nevertheless complimentary bar. Dilmah tea makes me a happy girl!
A simple gesture of Bali on my bed. Came in handy when I did my ground tours around Bali that was  quite hot when I visited.
Pool bumming time!
Caught sunset by the pool with our choice of cocktails. Love the Pina Colada here.
A pic with the hubster
Enough of pool time. We opted for Husk which serves an assortment of International cuisine. Not the brightest place but its good enough for you to see what you're eating. Definitely comfy and cozy for a meal with the hubster and the besties.
A nice welcome of towels:D
A good selection of wine and we opted for this bottle of Yalumba The Scribbler Cabernet Sauvignon 2009. Deep red with lovely currants and berries. Mediumbody making it a perfect wine for our dinner before our planned cigar and party at Potato Head.
Service is prompt and while waiting for us to decide on our orders we had lovely complimentary breads. Its easy to over eat as the breads are fresh and addictive.
Stuffed chicken wing with a tasty filing of minced meat and spices. Tasty only its own without a need to resort to the oyster sauce dip on the side.
A hearty soup works well especially when it was raining elephants and hippos while we had our dinner.
Grilled Beef Tenderloin with truffle sauce. No complains as it was juicy even though Jon and I fussed over it for some pics:D
Crispy calamari rings served with aioli on the side
My fave for the night would have to be this Amalia Australian lamb chops.
Pretty and dainty Dadar Gulung - pandan (screwpine) infused crepes with dessicated coconut and palm sugar.
Pisang Rai - something along the lines of banana split Balinese style where the banana is coated with flour, poached and served with chocolate sauce and ice cream.

We did not explore the other eateries at The Royal Beach Seminyak since we were all out to check out the local street scene. And after exploring Bali, a return to the hotel and our cozy beds is certainly a nice welcome. We certainly would not mind returning if we are to visit Seminyak again.

And for you folks who are reading this...and planning your getaway to Bali (like me) or anywhere else, then hurry and check out the #Hi5AirAsia Roving Team who will be moving around Johor Baru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor until 7th July.
