Urbano e Fresco

Nothing beats a good meal made with fresh ingredients from scratch. A dinner at Urbano e Fresco recently revealed a restaurant that I know I will be returning rather often for its selection of freshly prepared Italian dishes.
Urbano e Fresco has a simple setup. Nothing too elaborate yet it is still comfortable and cozy. Lighting is sufficient without being over glaring. Must say I love the display of pictures and of course packages of Italian ingredients which you can pourchase if you like to cook on your own at home.

The menu at Urbano e Fresco is rather extensive for both food and drinks. My choice to kick off a dinner was Querceto Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2011. Fruity, flowery and easy drinking...perfect to kick start a meal. The hubster was obviously a latte!

Service is prompt considering the fact that most items are prepared only upon order. And while waiting, nibbles of bread is always a good idea.

Prices of food is fair for the serving portion. If you are dining with a few friends, then its perfect to order a few items to be shared out.
Spinaci Insalata is a hearty salad of Baby Spinach, feta cheese, strawberries and almonds flakes with balsamic vinegar dressing RM22.90.

Sautéed Tiger prawns with extra virgin olive oil, chilli and garlic RM22.90. No complains at all! Its just too tasty and goes well with the breads. If you love it spicier, just add on the chili flakes.

Eggplant Formaggio is another favourite for the night. Roasted eggplant baked with Mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese (RM17.50)
Hearty and I am glad that the hubster didn't have to fight with me for this dish:P

Aglio & Olio. The usual serving is with Extra virgin olive oil, garlic, rocket salad and mushroom
RM21.90. I however requested mine to be just with olive oil and garlic. Plain but certainly tasty!

Verdurina Pizza is Urbano e Fresco's signature pizza with a generous topping of tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, cherry tomato, fresh garlic, rocket salad, peppers, fresh spinach, black olives,
broccoli and red onions. RM27.90 (9”), RM34.90 (12”) and RM41.90 (15”).

Meat lovers! The Stinco di Agnello RM45 is a must try. Made in limited quantity, the Oven Baked Lamb Shank served with mash potato, cherry tomato and sautéed vegetables served with Urbano signature sauce is lip smacking good. A complete meal on its own.

Chicken Milanese RM25.90 is lightly breaded chicken served with rocket salad, cherry tomatoes and shaved Parmesan Cheese. Eat it with some mushroom sauce or mustard.
I don't eat Chicken Milanese as a general rule because most place make it with a batter that is too thick. Urban e Fresco served their the way I love it with a thin batter and juicy chicken breast meat. The meat remains juicy that I actually did not mind eating it.

How can one end an Italian meal without dessert?
Tiramisu RM10.90
I declare this the best Creme Brulee RM6 in town! A nice thick caramelised top...knock it a little...and then you will be treated to a creamy custard that is actually not sweet on its own. Amazing!!!

Urbano e Fresco for your bite of Italy is pork free.
