Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur: Christmas & New Year Celebrations


The season for all the good dining, drinking and merry making is here again. Gosh! But the year went pass really quickly. And when the folks at Sheraton Imperial invited us to check out their festive offerings for Christmas and New Year, we knew we were in for a gastronomic treat and a food coma.

Kicking off our meals while waiting for everyone to settle down were some canapes. The selection of canapes also worked to get our stomach juice ready for the sumptuous dishes to come.

If you prefer an intimate and romantic getaway, then free-standing Tuscany styled Italian restaurant, Villa Danieli will be a good choice. Specially designed set menus are prepared for Christmas eve and New Year's eve.

The 5-course Christmas Eve menu is available on 24 December 2013. Priced at RM220++ per person. and treat yourself to some fine wines paired with your dinner for an additional of RM120++ per person. Indulge in Duck Foie Gras Lollipop with Crunchy Pistachios and Pineapple Sauce, Gorgonzola Cheese and Pistachios Parfait with Apple, Celeriac and Raspberry Salad served with Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette and Warm Ricotta Cheese Croquette, Potato and Fontina Cheese Ravioli with Sautéed Spinach, Parmesan Cream, Fresh Thyme, Lemon Steamed Halibut Fillet and Panzanella in Saffron Butter Sauce, Beef Tenderloin with Buche de Chèvre Gratin, Pears Compote and Celeriac Mille-feuille. End your meal with a burst of delightful flavours as Chef Rajesh will showcase his delicious White Chocolate Parfait and White Chocolate Mousse with Pistachios and Raspberry, Orange Gelatin Sheet.

To usher in the New Year on 31st December 2013, Villa Danieli will be preparing an irresistible 5-course set dinner.  Tempting delights includes Honey Citrus-cured Salmon with Tartare, Mediterranean Octopus Salad with Tomato Gelatin, Olives Dust and Chickpea Mousse, Creamed Cod Squid Ink Ravioli with Thyme, Tomato Fillet and Prawns in Tomato Coulisse Sauce, Pan Seared Snow Fish with Leeks Puree and White Asparagus, Sprouts and Ash Sauce, Beef Tenderloin Stuffed with Foie Gras, Sautéed Mixed Mushrooms, Honey Glazed Jus. To end your meal, enjoy the Raspberry Panna Cotta with Crispy Almonds and Foamy Lemon Mousse. Priced at RM220++ per person and an additional of RM120++ per person for wines. 
A meal at Villa Danieli is not complete unless one indulges in their freshly made breads and a very addictive herbed tomato salsa.

Celebrate Christmas eve with a buffet dinner from 6.30pm to 10.30pm at Essence. Priced at RM118++ per person (food only) and RM158++ per person (inclusive of free flow of house wines or 3 bottles of beer). The tantalising dishes include Roast Spring Chicken with Galantine, Mango Salsa and Apricot Vinaigrette, Roast Turkey with Apple and Chestnut Stuffing, Lobster, Avocado Salsa and Kumato with Spicy Chilli Honey, Pan Seared Cod with Coconut Chili and Citrus-Cinnamon Reduction and to name a few. Feast your eyes and indulge your senses with our must-have desserts like Raspberry Yule Log coated with White Chocolate, Ivory Cherry Gateaux, Apricot White Chocolate Mille-feuille, Matcha Panna Cotta,  Vanilla Lemon Cream Éclair and much more! 

Come Christmas day, the buffet line includes classic and contemporary brunch dishes such as Lobster, Avocado Salsa and Kumato with Spicy Chilli Honey, Roast Turkey with Chestnut Stuffing, Prime Rib of Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, Horseradish sauce with Roast Potatoes and Light Mustard Jus, Fish Head Curry, Tandoori Chicken, Stir Fried Fish Fillet with Black Bean Sauce. No holiday is complete without tempting desserts. Tantalise your taste buds with festive delights including Pistachio Raspberry Yule Log coated with White Chocolate, Grandma’s Minced Pie, Christmas Pudding with Vanilla Sauce and more. 

The Christmas brunch is priced at RM188++ per person (food only) and RM368++ per person for those who would like to enjoy bottomless sparkling wine, draughts beers, white wine and red wine. Alternatively, usher in the New Year’s Day with your loved ones and friends with an unforgettable brunch fare on 1 January 2014 with the same irresistible offer.

On New Year’s Eve, Essence will feature a delectable spread that spans the globe with Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Malaysian and International favourites. Tempt your tastebuds with Pan Seared Salmon with Shallots Confit, Smoked Eel with Couscous Salad and Pineapple Cumin Chutney, Roast Turkey with Chestnut and Mushroom Stuffing, Oven Roasted Lamb with Prune Sauce, Oven Baked Slipper Lobster with Tomata Mornay Sauce and many more. At Essence, the dessert counter should not be missed! Some of the sweets not to be passed up are White Chocolate Pistachio Cherry Gateaux Praline Panna Cotta with Apricot Compote, Tiramisu, Red Bean Mousse with Green Tea Gelee and Sesame Tuile, to name a few.
