Spring at Tokyo Street

Its Spring time! Pavilion Kuala Lumpur celebrates spring too and the theme this year is Sakura paper fantasy. Swing by to Tokyo Street and enjoy spring wonderland of delicate sakura flowers, leaves and lanterns made of paper.

To kick-start the celebration, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in partnership with Sakura Collection, Tokyo Tower, Japan Embassy and Adventure Japan, launched the third installation of the Sakura Collection 2014 Asia Student Awards. A fashion showcase featuring Japanese-inspired pieces from Asia’s Top designers, featured in the 2013 Sakura Collection Fashion Show in Japan. Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Korea, and Japan were the countries represented in a fusion of Japanese dresses.

For me, its good to see the winner of the Sakura Collection 2013 Asia Student Awards Lavender Lim with her again. Must say that she has certainly bloomed into a better designer in every sense compared to the first time when we met her. Love her Sakura-inspired pieces too.
Meanwhile, the Sakura Fair happens all the way till end of June with various activities and promotions being held which included specially flown-in items from Japan such as yukata, yukata belt, Japanese sandals and many others. Also on sale were items made by Tohoku tsunami survivors in Japan with all proceeds going towards their charity fund.
