Nasi Lemak

Nasi lemak definitely ranks the highest on my list for food cravings. The husbter asked me recently during our trip to Gold Coast for my run "Must you (eat) nasi lemak before your run? Must you (eat) nasi lemak on your flight for the run? And must you (eat) nasi lemak again on your return flight?"

And it hit me that I actually love nasi lemak very much! It really does not matter whether its a simple packet of nasi lemak wrapped in banana leaf (though these simple packed ones are one of my faves) - Nothings beats a serving of warm and fluffy rice cooked in coconut milk served with some sambal (spicy sauce) with condiments of ikan bilis (anchovies), peanuts, egg and sliced cucumber. There will be fancier ones with fried chicken, sambal sotong (cuttlefish in spicy sauce), chicken rendang etc but either way...its still nasi lemak!

Back to the question that the hubster asked reply was "I love nasi lemak and I love Pak Nasser's nasi lemak" For those who are unaware, Pak Nasser's nasi lemak is AirAsia's best selling meal on board all its local and international flights! Lost count of the number of times that I will actually prebook my nasi lemak on my AirAsia flights. 3 reasons for doing so:
(1) Its cheaper to prebook your meal and it comes with a bottle of mineral water.
(2) I am guaranteed of my pack of nasi lemak.
(3) Prebooked meals are served first!
So call it kiasu. Call it anything you want...I love Pak Nasser's nasi lemak and nothing is going to change that fact.
Pak Nasser's nasi lemak on board AirAsia - fragrant coconut rice served with Pak Nasser's special chilli sambal, chicken rendang, fried anchovies, peanuts and half of a hard-boiled egg.

This is not a sponsored post so my nasi lemak thoughts are strictly mine! And while I don't get to have my Pak Nasser's nasi lemak when I am back in KL, there is always a simple nasi lemak bungkus or even Sea Park's nasi lemak to fulfil my cravings. Hmmm...I reckon I should attempt cooking nasi lemak one of these fine day.
