Lunch @ Tai Zi Heen, Prince Hotel & Residence KL

We returned again to Tai Zi Heen for another pork free lunch recently with our associate. The restaurant tops our favourite lunch (and dinner) spots not just because food is good but because of its strategic location in the centre of Kuala Lumpur. Literally ts almosta  stone throw away from our office in KLCC meaning we can either drive or even walk there.

A quickie post this will be because I think the pics will tell everything.
Soups are perfect for every meal. They work wonders to nourish and hydrate the body.  All of us opted for Consomme with Sun Dried Scallops and Cordyceps RM38.
Braised beef short ribs RM30 per serving is highly recommended. Beef ribs marinated and slowly braised till tender, falling off the bone without much effort is drizzled with a house made coffee sauce. Served on a bed of crunchy honey peas and topped with some light roasted almond flakes for that extra crunch.
Stir fried honey peas with olive leaves and minced chicken RM22. Love how the natural sweetness of the honey peas go with the salty goodness of the olive leaves. Perfect with a big bowl of rice!
No harm having more vegies because its good for us! So I opted for the Wok fried fresh sea scallops with broccoli RM46 to make sure that the hubster and the associate eat their vegies!
Having made the boys eat their 2 plates of vegies, some prawns were in order. The Ying Yang Prawns RM44 turned out to be a hit with the 2 of them. Lightly battered prawns tossed with Asian Dressing and Garlic Pepper Sauce. My preference was for the Asian dressing as I found the garlic pepper a tad too mild for my preference.

The initial lunch plan was to steer off carbs as much as possible since the hubster and the associate were both trying to go paleo. I however thwarted their efforts by ordering the Fried Kway Teow RM32. No justice is made to the name but this is actually one of the better Cantonese Style Noodles in town. Utterly lavish with plump and fresh shrimps made even better with crab roe. Smooth silken egg sauce to coat each strand of rice noodle.
So good! *slurp*
