Affligem - Tale of 6 Knights

In 1074, six knights in Belgium got tired of fighting and they started brewing beer. Its definitely great that they did so because that was the beginning of Affligem, a rich and satisfying premium beer for the discerning beer drinker.

Double fermented for a sophisticated and fruity taste. Golden, aromatic, malty and comforting with every sip, its the perfect craft beer to end the work day or with a good sit down meal instead of the usual wines. What's amazing is that after all these years, the recipe and brewing remains the same. Heritage in every bottle!

Take your pick on how you want to consume your Affligem. Its quite an art to get the correct pour for that perfect Affligem moment. I personally prefer the Experience Pour.
• The Experience Pour: To savour the intense fruit, citrus and spice flavours using an Affligem Ritual Tray, a Goblet and a Yeast Glass. Tilt the goblet and pour smoothly without exagerated movement on the bottle so that the yeast remains at the bottom of the bottle. With a perfect pour into the goblet, you pretty much have a remaining 10% in the bottle that is then poured into the yeast glass which one can savour on its own for the rich intensity of yeast. I opt to savour the yeast glass first followed by the goblet.

• The Classic Pour: To enjoy the intense fruity hoppiness, pour Affligem into a Goblet. It can be enjoyed with the extra intensity of the yeast, or it can be enjoyed bright. 

Affligem is available only at premium dining establishments, intimate bars, premium grocers and convenience stores nationwide from October 2014 including The Ceylon Bar (Changkat Bukit Bintang), Chapter One @ Hartamas, Estilo Tapas Bar @ Publika, The Voice @ Pavilion KL and Primo’s. Retailers include Jason’s Food Hall @ BSC, Mercato @ Hartamas and most Cold Storage in the Central region.
