Adopt-A-Panda Charity Project

I dread visits to hospitals as a general rule. However a recent visit was perhaps one that I gladly volunteered to visit and I left the hospital a happy person. It was a wet and kinda dready weather when I arrived at Institut Jantung Negara for Silka Hotels Adopt-A-Panda Charity Project.

My mood didn't stay grey like the weather outside the hospital. Instead it was a nice and kinda fuzzy feeling as I joined the Dorsett Hospitality International Vice Chairman, Datin Jasmine Abdullah to present a cheque RM12, 000 to the Paediatric Ward of IJN. The amount was raised from the sales of the pandas priced at RM48 each. Rest assured that this is not the first or the last amount raised for the kids at the Paediatric Ward requiring financial aid as its part of the many ongoing campaigns that the hotel has been piecing together all year long.

I teared at the sight of infants and children with tubes sticking out of them but I also drew comfort in seeing happy smiles of parents and caretakers when they saw the cheque being presented. The presentation of cookies and cute Pandas too put a smile to their faces. Kudos Silka Hotels on a fabulous CSR campaign. Do keep them going so we can see more happy and healthy faces discharged from the IJN.
