Greek Odyssey @ Eccucino

We met Chef George Diakomichalis once again for a delicious Greek feast. The first thing I tell him "Good to see you back in town again!". The reason for saying that is because there is no Greek restaurant in Malaysia and this charming chef is back at Prince Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur's Eccucino Restaurant for the 4th consecutive year. Chef George is back for a limited time to whip out a delicious feast of traditional mouth watering Greek cuisines and pastry delights until Sunday 15 March 2015.

Two things for sure, Chef George is definitely still looking very fit and he's wooing many hearts with his gastronomical delight. Some might argue that Greek food may seem a tad oily or sweet, but Chef George will tell you its all about balance. One eats well and one finds a balance with some exercise. Meet him personally and chat him up when you visit Eccucino for dinner. He is more than glad to chat about what makes Greek food healthy and tips about staying healthy.

Greek cuisine is healthy like many Mediteranean food. Lots of fresh ingredients including meats, seafood and vegetables. Of course there's a generous use of olive oils famed for being good fats coupled with the superfoods of nuts.

This time, Chef George's menus for the buffet includes his signature dishes include Dolmades (Stuffed Grape Leaves), Khoriatiki Salad (Greek Country Salad), Chicken and Lamb Souvlaki (Grilled Skewers), Moussaka (Baked Eggplant and Beef Casserole), Yiros (Spit-Roasted Meats in Fresh Pita Bread) and his specialty desserts features must-tries such as Baklava (Honey-Drenched Nut and Filo Pastries), Rizogalo (Creamy Rice Pudding) and Kog (Custard Filled Shells Topped with Chocolate Ganache).
My all time favourite of Dolmades - rice and beef wrapped in grape leaves
Olives
Colourful but delicious toss of Greek salad
Psari plaki sto fourno - baked sea bass with potatoes and carrots.
Spanakopita - baked filo pastry with spinach
Afgolomeno - looks like a simple porridge but its really a comforting dish of chicken broth with rice,  carrots, celery, egg and lemon.
Kakavia - fish stew
Loukomades - honey and cinnamon drizzled fritters
Kourabiethes - Greek butter cookies
Rizogalo - creamy rice pudding
There are wines and of course Ouzo for a complete Greek experience!
