AirAsia X Flies Direct to Sapporo, Hokkaido

AirAsia X flies directly from Kuala Lumpur to Sapporo, Hokkaido beginning 1st October 2015. 4 times a week.

Promotional fares start at RM99 for economy or RM999 for the award winning Premium Flatbed from today until 2nd August 2015. Travel period is 1st October 2015 until 31st August 2016.

Make use of the optional Fly-Thru service to connect flights to fly to Sapporo seamlessly between all Asian and Australian cities. The direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Sapporo will take approximately 8 hours flight time so I reckon that if one is flying at night, then the Premium Flat Bed is a good idea. Flight details:

Flight days: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday

CTS-KUL:

There's plenty to do in Hokkaido. Here's some of the ones on my list:
Someone mentioned Ussuri brown bear. Okies so we shall say hello to the bear.
Kaminokoike - a pond that is 5 meters deep but it is so clear that you can see all the way to the bottom of the pond.
Adding to my tower visits will be the Sapporo JR Tower Observatory T38 for a 360 degree view of Sapporo
Hot springs
Lavender farms...lavender ice cream...everything lavender!
Lake Mashu - the one of the clearest lake in the world and deepest lake in Japan. This picture taken in summer has a mysterious feel to it.
Skiing or snow boarding is a must in Hokkaido.

Food galore including the freshest seafood. Hairy crabs is of course a must too!
Whisky lovers should make it a point to visit Yoichi Distillery

And because I love running, Hokkaido is also a good place to visit for races. A few in my consideration includes:

Hokkaido Marathon
• generally the last Sunday of August

Saroma Ultra Marathon
• Road race in June with a cut off time of 8 hours for 50km and 13 hours for 100km.
Foodvalley Tokachi Half Marathon
• September with a cut off of 2:30 for the half marathon and 50 minutes for the 5K. Known to be a delicious race too with aid stations filled with yummy cakes and sweets!
See you soon Hokkaido...I have awesome reasons to visit you.
