DineandShare

What is there not to love about dining out? You don’t have to go through the hassle of cleaning up, there are definitely more options and of course, the ambience. While it costs more than cooking up a romantic dinner for 2 at home, a prudent diner would make the most of the offers available. A personal favorite of mine is the Starwood Preferred Guest® benefits, which just got better with their latest #DineandShare promotion where you can receive up to 35% off on dining when you share a photo of your meal on your favorite social media channel.

#DineandShare is perfect for those of you who have the ‘bad’ habit of snapping pictures of a dish or a meal before digging into it. Well, I look at it differently. I call it having excellent manners. Why? Simply because it’s called documenting your experience. Starwood Hotels and Resorts latest promotion rewards me for doing two of my favorite things - dining and sharing.

At the current moment, participating restaurants offer an exclusive “member” dining discounts of up to 30%. With the launch of #DineandShare diners can get an additional 5% off when you follow 3 simple steps:
 • Step 1: Become a member for free on spg.com/join. SPG is Starwood’s loyalty programme.
 • Step 2: Dine at a participating restaurant (spg.com/dineandshare
 • Step 3. Share a photo of your meal on your favorite social channel using the #DineandShare and show the uploaded photo to your server to get up to 35% off at the end of your meal.

Hurry and make the most of the discounts because it runs until 15 December 2015. And here’s my latest food adventure at Qba Bar & Grill @ The Westin Kuala Lumpur where I have decided to make the most of the new SPG Restaurants & Bars #DineandShare campaign’s promotional offer. I received the base discount of 15% and an additional 5% off when I shared this picture of a delicious ‘Re-Invented’ Tune Nicoise that cost RM37.
The fine taste of fresh tuna perfectly seared and served with olives, haricot beans, quail eggs, anchovies, capers and confit potato. Juicy goodness with every bite and the serving portion is perfect as a main or even for sharing.

Lovely discounts and lovely food. Remember to follow the 3 steps listed above when you dine at any of the participating restaurants and bars but first you need to be a SPG member! 2 easy ways:
• You can sign up for your SPG membership by asking the staff at the hotel or restaurant
• Alternatively, you can visit www.spg.com/join
Take note that discounts are available only for food.

Where can you enjoy your SPG discounts? There are 27 restaurants and bars in Malaysia for you to explore including; the Breeze Lounge at the Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa, The Best Brew at Four Points by Sheraton Penang and Latest Recipe at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur. So hurry…grab a meal at Starwood’s Restaurants and Bars and share your photo on your favorite social media channel to enjoy the additional 5% discount.

PS: If you so happen to visit Qba Bar & Grill and love soup, make sure you order the Crema De Calabaza, Scallop Y Cacao that costs RM37. An interesting dish that provides much visual and palate pleasures. Served in a pot while the soup is poured before you. Draw in the beautiful aromas and that pretty dish that sits before you. Snap a picture. Dig into the creamy goodness of rich and buttery pumpkin puree with scallop. And enjoy every bit of the slightly bitter cacao nibs that provides a lovely balance to the sweet goodness of pumpkin and scallop. One amazing bit of this soup is the Turkey Bacon – it is uber close to the taste and texture pork bacon. A nice welcome from the usual beef bacon, which I honestly think pales in comparison to pork bacon. And remember to upload your picture before you ask for the bill so that you can enjoy an additional 5% discount on top of your existing SPG members’ discount.
