Almost the end of November. I am amazed just how fast time flew by the last 2 weeks with loads of work thrown in and thankfully I still managed some daily bits of social life in between the late nights at work.


Dinner at 1am: hot porridge and cold dishes πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. The former is comforting as I intended it to be but cold dishes...yucks!

Took a short afternoon run along Kuala Lumpur's heritage route today. Met this ginger milk cat again. Couldn't resist snapping her picture.
While I am not a vegan or vegetarian, I love my clean eats as much as possible. This grilled pear salad from last night's dinner was such a memorable salad that it had me thinking about having it again today and the next few days too. Sweet pear with black pepper, lemon juice, sweet cherry tomatoes and crisp salad. I personally like this #vegan version better than the restaurant's original that included turkey ham. Thank you @TMACoffee for accommodating my request.

8.7km @1:09:25 of trail fun for #FrostTheTrail Run. Gained back a little bit of confidence after tearing my ankle ligaments on my maiden trail run in Nuang on 17 July 2015 when someone fell against me. While every step brought back memories of Nuang, I kept telling myself that I must not stop until I cross the finish line. Plus the hubster woke up super early to accompany me to this race and was waiting patiently for me to return in one intact piece at the finish line πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. #FitterFasterStronger

Break the silence and end the violence. A wet Sunday morning run for a good cause. Men and women. Boys and girls. 
Darn proud of @fatinbellaaa. Completed 6km with a combination of brisk walking and sprinting her remaining 200m. Speed does not matter. What matters is her determination to finish what was set for today's 6km category for #wrr2015 to end violence against women. #WhiteRibbonMY
#vegan lunch RM6 or approximately USD1.40 for a plate of brown rice, tofu, vegetarian curry, four angle beans and calabash (chinese green gourd). Comes with complimentary bowl of mung bean dessert.
A #vegan recovery meal after 6km walk and 1 hour yoga yesterday. 2 avocados, 2 @zesprisea green kiwifruits, 1 onion and a squeeze of lime juice. Salt is optional. I had the yummy dip with baby carrots. Less than 5 minutes prep time for a nutrition packed meal with protein plus loads of vitamin C and fibre from the kiwifruits.

Bow Pose | Dhanurasana
Not the easiest because my body is too rigid. But this is another personal favourite post after a run because it works wonders to ease the spine, abs, quads and arms. This post also works for me when I get my heartburns! 
NOTE: lift your torso and legs simultaneously when you inhale. 
I hope that as the next 8 weeks go by, I will be able to lift higher and perhaps even hold the opposite ankle in this post.

The first synthetic ice skating ring in Bukit Bintang is in Fahrenheit88! RM30 for 15 minutes. But it's FREE until 5pm today. Don't say I #bojio
If I had my way, I will be carbo loading for an #ultramarathon this weekend. However I am trying to be a good patient so it's a DNS for me. But that's not stopping me from preparing a carbo loading lunch box earlier today.
A quick 20 minutes prep and cooking time for a #EatClean lunch box of pasta, chicken breast cooked in olive oil, marinated with a little salt, rosemary, oregano and black pepper then tossed with cherry tomatoes, 1 #Zespri kiwifruit, feta cheese, flaxseed and olives. Served with an extra kiwifruit so that my buddy @ana_fauzi fuels up on loads of vitamin C and potassium which is crucial for the body to recover after a gruelling race.

Fruits infused water are awesome. It adds flavour to water. When you are stuck in a jam hungry, drink up and eat the fruit! It's Zespri kiwifruit this morning as we brave a strange jam to work with my rumbling stomach. Thankfully I ran out of lemons and have loads of kiwifruits because I can't imagine eating lemons! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

After a long run or a long day of standing on my feet, I like this move 'legs up the wall' also known as Viparita Karani. A simple move that doesn't require an agile body but does wonders for the whole body:
• stretches the hammies after a long run and when you include a pull down to your chest, that helps to ease the glutes and quads too.
• helps to regulate digestion.
• helps relieve headaches.
• some insomniacs find that this relaxes them and allows them to sleep better when practising this before sleep. 
Set a timer when doing this because it's so relaxing that I know of people who actually fell asleep in this restorative yoga move. Move gently to the side to ease yourself out of this position. And if you really want to have some quiet time doing this, make sure the kids are out of the room. Shalom my 12 yo kiddo will never allow me anything more than 3 minutes. On good days like today, she will just ruffle against me. Bad days includes her walking into my abdomen while Shiloh the cat will sit on my face πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

#Vrksasana or tree pose. One can do this #yoga pose anywhere and anytime. Engages the whole body as we maintain our balance on one foot. An awesome workout for the mind as we learn to focus and concentrate on maintaining our balance.

A warm yummy multigrain roll after a morning of hills. Did the full works of Triple Hills to kick start the weekend.
Pre run fuel this morning before my morning hillies. Have a fruit like a kiwifruit for a constant fuel throughout your workout. Plus with a #Zespri kiwifruit, you are having twice the Vitamin C of an orange and loads of fibre.

Let me drown my sorrows in banana leaf rice because I had to DNS one race yesterday and a FM next Sunday.
I indulged so much over the weekend with BBQs, wines, beer, burgers, cakes and even ate banana leaf rice for 2 persons (briyani and Indian rice in one sitting)....Sunday's dinner has to be a nutritious but light smoothie of a pear, #Zespri kiwifruits, one yuzu and soda water. Use soda water for a fizzy touch to your drinks but stay away from tonic water which is actually sweetened. Lots of fibre to help 'unclog' the system, Vitamin C to boost my immune system and also help my muscles repair itself from the weekend's runs and pool workouts. 
Life is a balance. I play hard but I also balance it off with #EatClean habits as much as I can.

Lots of Zespri kiwifruit postings too as I was doing a one week 'challenge' of incorporating the delicious fruit into my diet for better digestive health. It was also good that I learnt up the different yoga moves for better digestive health. The moves are generally easy but because I am so stiff, you can see how I actually struggled with some of the posts. While the one week challenge is officially over today, I will be continuing on my own more yoga in my daily life. It will certainly be good to add some agility and variety to my workouts other than just running and more running. Wish me luck and do share with me some of your favourite yoga tips and workouts!
