Taste Of Mexico @ Hard Rock Cafe

Hard Rock Cafe brings Mexico to you. All through the month of May, there will be a menu dedicated to the fiery and colourful flavours of Mexico. Enjoy classic Mexican dishes including tacos, quesadillas and vegetarian dishes. There is also a selection of adult drinks (also known as cocktails) made with Mezcal and served with a Hard Rock twist.

The serving portions are generous as usual. So make sure you head in with a bunch of friends or return a few times on your own to run through the entire menu. A must have is the cocktails to go with the dishes. There are 3 to choose from and each one of us had our own favourites. 
Complete the Taste of Mexico dishes with these 3 cocktails which are made with Mezcal, an agave based distillate.
• Diablo: Mezcal with muddled cucumber, agave, mango puree lime juice and topped with ginger beer. Served with candied ginger and cucumber twist.
• Amigo: Mezcal with BOLS Maraschino liquer, blueberry, orgeat, lime juice and garnished with cherries.
• Troublemaker: Mezcal with Chipotle Pineapple syrup, Cointreau, fresh lime juice and muddle Jalapeno rings ---> This is my obvious favourite being the least sweet with a lil lingering hotness on your palates.
There are 7 dishes on the Taste of Mexico menu. Nothing overly complicated and there is something for everyone.  
Smoky Chicken Tinga Tacos RM55
An entree but it os pretty much a complete meal for most people! Shredded chipotle chicken, feta cheese, fresh cheese, avocado, yellow chili pepper and served with sides of tomatillo salsa 
and spicy sauce. 
Vegetarian Tacos RM45
I love how Hard Rock Cafe caters well to folks like me who prefer vegetarian meals. The hubster who is pretty carnivorous had his fun with assorted Mexican Street Tacos including Barbacoa RM60, SouthWest Pulled Chicken RM55 and Grilled Spicy Shrimp RM50. I had my fun and thoroughly enjoyed my vegetarian tacos that was seriously filling and satisfying with flavourful ingredients of sweet potato, quinoa, pico de gallo, parmesan cheese, tomato salsa, feta cheese and sour cream. 
Crispy Shrimp with Aji Amarillo Sauce RM55
I am not a fan of fried items but this crispy shrimp makes it to my must have items. Lightly coated Panko breaded shrimp fried just right and served with fresh cheese, spicy pecan, cilantro and green onion. Served with crumbled feta cheese and a zesty yellow chili pepper sauce. So good that we ordered an additional serving!
Grilled Shrimp with Mexican Street Corn Inspired Salad RM60
Achiote spiced shrimp over spring mix with black beans, pico de gallo, avocado, jalapenos, roasted corn, tossed with a chili orange vinagreitte and a drizzle of yellow chili pepper. This is definitely my favourite from the menu. A tad spicier than the rest of the menu and it definitely went well with my palates and dietary needs. Loads of fibre, protein and because it was spicy enough. A nice one to go with my choice of cocktail Troublemaker!
Fiesta Chicken Quesadillas RM55
This is the hubster's favourite from the menu. Shredded chipotle chicken, grilled pineapples, feta cheese, fresh cheese and served with sides of guacamole, spicy sauce and sour cream.
Yucatan Style Shrimp Ceviche RM35
A popular favourite with most diners. Steamed shrimp tossed with lime, orange, avocado, cucumber and served with yellow corn chips. An addictive starter that makes a good chit chat snack
 over drinks!
